Hampton Bay Solar Lights Q and A
********************
Q: I have your dual circuit 600 Watt landscape light transformer. One night after a storm, it stopped working.
BUT, non of the circuit problem indicator is lit, and the led indicating 6hr operation works and is on. I have unplugged and replugged but can’t get the Hampton Bay Solar Lights to come on even in the On position.
A: The transformer that controls your lights has lost it’s photocell, the photocell keeps the lights off during the day and on at night. The lighting strike probably surged the photocell and destroyed it. The transformer never gets the signal that it is dark out and the lights don’t come on. You can pick up a new transformer from any home improvement store.

Q: I have installed 12 Solar Lights along the edge of the landscape in front of my house. As it turns out, the landscaping crew managed to break the plastic spikes off the end of just about all of the Solar Lights. I am interested in buying spare light spikes, if that is the correct name for them. I cannot find a model number for the light fixture as there are only 2 labels under the LED cap. 12-2009 is probably the date of manufacture and the Home Depot sku #987607 is on the other tag.
Thank you in advance for your time assisting me with my problem. I hope you have a solution as my wife does not like her lights laying down upon the ground.

A: The Home Depot is now carrying replacement spikes for the Hampton Bay Lights. You should be able to find them at your local store now.

Q: We have twenty Hampton Bay Solar Lights less than a year old and the small light sensor cover has popped out causing failure. How can we obtain replacement parts? Thanks
A: That’s very odd that this part would get damaged on 20 lights all at once. I’m not aware of a replacement part for this but you might contact a local electronics store and see if they have a replacement. Take apart and bring one of your lights with you for reference.

Q: We purchased these solar lights last summer at Home Depot Cant find replacement batteries or a charger that fits it battery is optlifePO4 14430 300mh 3.2v where can i find the batteries or a charger.
A: A charger won’t help you as the solar cells will keep the batteries charged. Most use a standard size rechargeable double A battery. These are available at most retail stores or you can get Hampton Bay branded batteries at your local Home Depot.
